In doing so, an artistic engagement becomes clear that does not result from the needs of an existing and evolving concept of art, but rather from a critical reëection on the factors and conditions of contemporary society, which keeps becoming more and more complex. Since they act between coexisting cultural contexts not only through their artistic practice, but also through the characteristics of their biography and way of life, they take a stand on the complexity of the common reality and draw attention to the dialogical moment in the encounter of cultural and subjective diversity. And I sent two spirits of the restless dead…” A Dance of the Forests, Wole Soyinka Diafragma, international photography and visual arts festival, Covilhã 2021, proposes an alternative view of everything that surrounds us, a place that is a stimulus to diéerent «ways of seeing» (J. Berger), a place of interventions and revelations. Culture is also made of diéerences. A diéerence that time and space, chaos and order seek ceaselessly to understand. The theme we chose for this year’s festival is “There is only one land”, a theme that refers to multiple readings.
